How Do I Know If My Cat Is Sick?

It isn’t difficult to learn a lot about the way your cat is currently feeling, even if you’re not Dr. Doolittle.   You don’t need to learn to speak “meow,” but you need to pay attention to behavior and appearances.  Even those who are extremely busy with their own small business, it doesn’t excuse ignoring warning signs from your cat.  You work hard to find great business coupon for your business to keep costs low, so take some time to care for your little cat.

The Internet makes it easy to track down cost-saving coupons, like the best in business software coupons.  You can also find lots of useful information to help you determine how healthy your cat is.

The first thing to observe is your cat’s general behavior.   The first sign things might be of some concern is when people think their cat is “acting funny.”  No, we don’t mean your cat is the next animal superstar!  This generally just means that the cat is acting in a way that deviates from his or her norm.   Pay very close attention to the behavior – takes notes if you must. Your cat may not always reproduce her or her “funny” behavior for the vet, so being as thorough as you can is important.  Describe in great detail, and try to reproduce sounds the cat makes, even if you feel silly doing it.

Don’t forget about paying attention to eating and litter box behavior.  People often are able to determine something is wrong with their cat by observing how poorly he or she is eating.   If you change the litter regularly, elimination changes should be noticeable.  Does the cat still eat, but much less?   Is the cat not eating at all?  When you look at the litter box, do you see evidence of bodily fluids?  Note also that your vet will likely want you to collect a sample of the stool.   While not the most pleasant job around, it can be a goldmine of information for the vet.

Other things to observe are the quality of your cat’s coat, changes in skin quality and color from the norm, and the condition of the ears.   Take careful note of these things when your cat is healthy, so you can recognize when he or she gets sick.
